Christopher Pack

Senate Candidate

Statement

It is my honor and privilege to run for the office of USG Senator. As a Senator, I want to improve the quality of life for all students, on and off campus. I want to work to improve USC’s resources for finding, applying, and interviewing for internships for students. Additionally, I want to work with the Department of Public Safety to make the campus safer for students given the region that USC is located. Keeping housing pricing reasonable for all USC Housing is also one of my main goals, including pushing for three or more years of guaranteed housing for future students. I work tirelessly to make sure that all of my fellow Trojans have an enjoyable time while at USC. I look forward to representing all of the students to the best of my abilities if I were to be elected as a Undergraduate Senator for USC.

Platform Points:

  • Increase interaction between Greek life and the university as a whole, while ensuring that Greek life is not killed by university polices.
  • Increase student awareness and involvement in reporting any actions that they find to be inappropriate by USC staff.
  • Propose that the entire week of Thanksgiving is taken off (most classes are poorly attended or canceled anyway) and possibly remove the fall break in Fall 2020 and going forward if the entire week of Thanksgiving is taken off. In this way there is no net change in number of instructional days.
  • Make Viterbi have a larger influence in student government as its interests are currently underrepresented.
